Therapy that meets young people where they are.

Children and adolescents face their own challenges: school, friendships, family changes, anxiety. Karen creates a creative, engaging space where young people feel heard, and works closely with parents to support them at home.

How sessions work

Two age bands, one shared approach.

Ages 6–11

Children

Karen uses play, creativity and language matched to the child’s age: drawing, games, story-telling or simple conversation, whichever helps them feel safe and understood. The focus is on building strengths and creating a space where they feel heard.

Ages 12–17

Adolescents

Sessions look more like adult therapy, talking through what’s happening, exploring patterns and building skills. Karen respects their growing independence while staying connected to home and school. Many teens appreciate having an adult outside their family to talk to.

Common concerns

What young people work through.

If your child or teen is struggling, or you’ve noticed a shift in their mood or behaviour, reach out. Karen works with:

  • •Anxiety (separation, social, generalised worry)
  • •School refusal or school-related stress
  • •Depression or low mood
  • •Behavioural concerns
  • •Friendship and peer difficulties
  • •Family transitions
  • •Self-esteem and confidence
  • •Anger management
  • •Grief and loss
  • •Identity exploration (particularly teens)

With parents

You’re part of the therapy team.

Karen stays closely involved with parents, sharing what she’s noticing, suggesting strategies for home, and working together to support your child. Parent involvement is one of the strongest predictors of good outcomes.

Fees

Clear pricing for all ages.

Sessions are $240 for 50 minutes. With a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare rebates $149.05, leaving an out-of-pocket of $90.95.
